I have been running in one way or another since 2004 and this has been a brilliant way to help me raise money for my favourite charities. I have run in the past for Cancer Research, but this year I decided to run for the British Heart Foundation. The reason for this change of heart is my sister in 2009 was diagnosed with a heart condition that meant she had to be fitted with a pacemaker. (I have to add that she was newly pregnant at the time)  

After some complications and 2nd operation she is totally fine now and the pacemaker is doing it's job. The British Heart Foundation's website was amazing at the time as it provided the most comprehensive information which calmed down a very shocked and panicky family. I personally owe them a debt of gratitute.
