Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Just a little update:  I have now gone past the minimum target set of £2,850.00 but don't let this put you off donating as I don't go to China until September and it's a worthy cause.

I am well on my way to conquering my fear of bridges, partly thanks to Gary who, along with Margaret, dragged me on to the Humber Bridge.  The next one to walk over is the is one over the M62 which is part of the Pennine Way walk so if anyone fancies that ....................., then it's China here I come!

To everyone who has sponsored me so far THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, I'll make you proud of me

.

As many of you will know, cancer has had a large impact on my life as I have, over the years, lost both parents and three good friends. We, at Ringways, also have a good friend and colleague currently receiving treatment at the Yorkshire Cancer Centre. So I thought that now is the time I personally did something to help.  Trek China is part of the Centre's £10 Million appeal to further enhance facilities and care for cancer patients in our region.

Half of the target money raised will go direct to Yorkshire Cancer Centre and the other half is to cover expenses such as flights, accommodation etc.  My Sister said that it would be a good holiday for me but I think that trekking for 5 days over all sorts of terrain, at one point climbing  over 1,200 steps and at another point walking over a suspension bridge (when I don't like heights, bridges and especially bridges over water!) is not my type of holiday! Having said that I am looking forward to the challenge.

So, please support me as much as you can, both financially and mentally. If anyone fancies a long walk in between now and September just give me a call!

Once again thank you for your generosity.

GILL  xx
