Story

The Capital to Coast cycle was a huge success, and I really enjoyed taking part.  The satisfaction and feeling of achievement is incredible!

We completed the 60 miles in 4.45hrs - cycling at an average of 12.1 miles per hour. There were parts of it that were much harder than I expected, but I powered through till the finish.

I want to say a BIG BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to these incredible causes.  I have been overwhelmed and very touched with how kind and generous everyone has been. It helped give me more motivation to train and work hard.

Many thanks and lots of love

Gill

As much as I love my old bike, I have decided to invest in a new machine! And what a difference!! My training is coming along well, and am regularly cycling 20+ miles of an evening and completing much longer rides at the weekend. I really appreciate all of your support, you have been kind and generous. Speak soon, lots of love, Gilly xxxx

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My 16 year partner and I - the Lambada, have decided to embark on an adventure!  A 60 mile circuit from Hove to Hove in fact!  We are joining The Capital to Coast organisation that shares money raised between three charities:

Norwood is a leading UK charity supporting children and adults, coping with learning disabilities and social disadvantage, to reach their full potential in life. Cystic Fibrosis is the UK''s most common life-threatening inherited disease.

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the UK''s only national charity dedicated to all aspects of Cystic Fibrosis.

And The Down’s Syndrome Association focuses on all aspects of living successfully with Down’s syndrome and aims to help its beneficiaries to live full and rewarding lives.

I don’t doubt this will be a challenge for me – but I am determined to do this and do it well!  I'lI have friends at my side, as three of us have joined as a team to keep each other on track and encouraged. The beautiful countryside will keep me smiling, as well as the thought that I am doing my bit for good causes.  And when I get to the end, I’ll drag my weary legs down to the beach and collapse with some well earned fish and chips and a beer or three!

So, I hope you will support me and help turn my pedal power turn into vital cash, and if any of you are free to join us in Hove, the support would be most welcome! As a team we will be in Brighton on the Saturday, ready to head to Hove early Sunday morning, so if there are any of you that are interested in joining the Hove to Hove charity ride, you can find out more information and register by clicking onwww.capitaltocoast.org.uk or by calling 020 8420 6944.  It’s only £25 [for the full 60 mile ride, or] £15 [for the 30 mile ride], if you register before the event.

Thanks for helping me to help others – I’ll let you know how I get on!
