On the afternoon of Saturday 16th July 2011, a group of us will be doing a 55ft sponsored abseil down Avon Gorge in Bristol. We are raising money for BKAP - Bristol Kenyan Acorn Project.
BKAP is a HIV/AIDS awareness and education programme and is run by medical students from the University of Bristol. This summer, four of us are travelling to Ndiwha, a small village in Western Kenya. Here, groups of volunteers from the surroundng area are trained in the education of HIV/AIDS prevention, enabling them to pass on this important advice to local school children thoughout the year.
