I am taking part in The Big Walk 2018, a walking challenge, on 22 June - a 26.2 marathon-distance Peak District walk starting in Lodge Moor on the edge of Sheffield, heading out to the Peak District and ending on the University campus.

We are raising funds towards the University's £2 million fundraising campaign for the Sheffield Scanner - a ground-breaking MRI-PET scanner facility, and the first of its kind in Yorkshire.  Further information on the Sheffield Scanner can be found at www.sheffield.ac.uk/sheffieldscanner

I am thrilled to be involved in The Big Walk in support of such a worthwhile cause.  The funds raised will benefit research into a number of critical areas of medicine; areas which touch all our lives.
