<p>Having done a few sporty events over the last few years, a challenge which has always interested me is a Triathlon.&nbsp; So I have finally decided to bite the bullet and get myself registered for one!&nbsp; I have been training for 5 months now and with the kind donation of a bike I am ready!!&nbsp; The event is taking place on 11th Sept</p> <p>The Triathlon is 750m open water (!!) swim (approx 30 lengths in a 25m pool), 23km bike ride and finished off by a 5km run.</p> <p>I am raising money for a charity very close to my heart - World Horse Welfare - this charity do an enormous amount of amazing work for horses both in the UK and abroad.&nbsp; One of their projects is to&nbsp;end the plight of horses being transported for slaughter - the horses are put through an horrific journey just to meet their maker at the end of it!&nbsp;They also provide an education&nbsp;in developing&nbsp;countries on how to look after their horses and donkeys so that these animals, which are vital to a families work and income, are looked after well and are ready for the work they are faced with.</p> <p><a href="http://www.worldhorsewelfare.org/about-us/impact-of-world-horse-welfare">http://www.worldhorsewelfare.org/about-us/impact-of-world-horse-welfare</a></p> <p>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
