My story

 

Well - WE DID IT!!!!! and we had a fabulous time doing it, loving every minute and step! It feels like an amazing achievement. Amanda did it in around 4 hrs 40 mins, Jane in 4 hrs 54 mins and Alison in 4 hrs 58 mins, so all under 5 hours! Thanks to everyone for all your donations, and support and interest both before, during and after the race. We had a great support structure around us in terms of our running partners (Wendy, Sarah and Lou), our husbands (Alan, Steve and Paul) and our trainers, Ricky and Amy! We couldn't have managed it without any of you, so a BIG thanks from us, and also from the team at St. Lukes!

On 13th September 2009, we will be entering our first ever full Marathon deep in the heart of Robin Hood Country. The race will cover 26 grueling, expletive infused miles....

Training has been sporadic, injury prone and fuelled by whingeing, with Mandy cracking the proverbial whip! We are still on track for a melodramatic Paula Radcliffe (circa. 2004) style finish!

We hope our fundraising target is realistic, even if our fitness levels have some way to go. We are aiming for £2009 in 2009 for St Luke's, Sheffield's only Hospice, and we need your support!
