Story

We have both completed the London Marathon! Thanks to everyone who has supported us so far. If you haven't donated yet, please consider making a donation. Every little bit helps.

Gladys ran a personal best of 2.41.45. That time is the third fastest ever run by a woman living in Northern Ireland. Gladys is also an American citizen, and it meets the qualifying standard for the U.S. Olympic Trials, which are in January 2012 in Houston.

Gavin made his marathon debut in 3.32. He was using the race as motivation to get back in shape so expect to see him running faster times soon!

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We hope you will be able to help us raise funds for Zimbabwe Orphan Care.

We are both members of Abbey Athletics Club, based in Belfast and Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland. Gavin is now living in Liverpool, while Gladys is based in Belfast.

Zimbabwe Orphan Care is a charity started by Alan and Dorothy Graham in 2000. Alan is originally from Belfast, while Dorothy hails from Liverpool.

Zimbabwe Orphan Care offers housing, schooling, clothes, food and water, hope and love to some of the 800,000 orphans currently living in poverty in Zimbabwe. The charity has no administration or staff costs outside of Zimbabwe, where it offers much needed employment to over 20 people. Gladys first met Alan and Dorothy when she visited Zimbabwe in 2007, and saw first hand how important their work is.
