My story

I am taking part in a sponsored walk of 6.5 miles along the north-east coast from Sunderland to South Shields on Sunday November 28th. There's approx. 50 of us doing the walk (so far...).

The sponsored walk has been organised by my 16 year old niece, Claire Young (pictured) who on July 26 this year was diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Despite undergoing chemotherapy since then, Claire has enrolled and started college and attends when she feels well enough. However, she will also require radiotherapy when the chemo ends in the New Year.

Claire has organised this sponsored walk for Cancer Research UK along with a variety night at her local youth theatre which will raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.  You can read more about Claire from an article in the local paper, The Sunderland Echo, online at: http://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/local/inspiring_claire_helping_others_1_2779928

Please sponsor me, thanks very much indeed!
