We have a "Changing Rooms" challenge to undertake for Capability Scotland and really need your support.
Scottish Enterprise has chosen two teams to battle for the title of Apprentice 2010 and our teams challenge is to do a "makeover" of Dove House in Lanark, which is currently occupied by Glenda, a cerebal palsy sufferer. "Glenda's Angels" have one day (May 20th) to transform her home (kitchen and lounge - see pics!) and a team of nine to do everything from fundraising to painting and laying carpets to make her house a home. She is so excited about this and we want to all we can to surpass her expectations, as well as leaving a legacy for Capability Scotland to be able to upgrade other houses that are used by those with CP. We are aiming to raise £5000 if possible throughout all our events but anything you can donate today will make a long term difference
Capability’s mission is to transform people’s expectations of what is possible and ensure that disabled people achieve equality. They do this by:
- Becoming the first choice for innovative personalised and sustainable services, which provide the necessary support so that disabled people can enjoy the same human and civil rights as everyone else.
- Forging strong and effective relationships through working with a range of organisations within the public, private and voluntary sectors concerned with disability.
- Exerting effective influence which ensures that laws are passed, which give disabled people equal human and civil rights and that attitudes are changed through campaigning, education and information.
