1000 miles is not an amazing challenge for a serious cyclist, which I am not, I enjoy a gentle ride on a pleasant day with frequent stops for views or coffee. It took me over a year to complete the Trans Pennine Trail a mere 213 miles so it does seem like a challenge to me especially considering my age, weight and the British weather. I am hoping that anyone who is unimpressed by the challenge will still consider S.U.A.G worthy of a 1p per mile donation. My husband Mike and I are aware of the great work they do through visiting our friend Reg Hazell.

Reg is a very kind person who helped many local people before he became seriously ill in December 2010, since which time he has been cared for by a number of hospitals including a lengthy stay in Southport Spinal Unit .
