The Airborne Services Charity has been forwarded a cheque for  £ 170 - thanks go to Mark & Wendy Colling.

And the Help for Heroes Charity receiving a cheque for £ 665 - with thanks going to Diane, Suzanne, the Quakers Running Club and Ian.

A personal big thanks to our two charity team members for their committment towards the training and the raising of funds. And then to our friends, colleagues and sponsors for a job well done.  And many of the participants would like to improve their times when they do it all again next year.

One week on and we are still on a high and talking about this challenge. Our funds amount keeps rising, as I'm sure will our enthusiasm to do this all over again, next year. Thank you all.

7/9/10. A Team of 4 had a 7 mile run planned with full packs. It was dark and raining when we arrived back at our cars. However, our sponsored amount is to the tune of £ 550 so far and we are sure that this will keep rising.

2/9/10 We have met our initial target of £ 350 and now increased this to £ 500, for which we have achieved over 70%, excellent, thank you all.

Two reasons for attempting this challenge.  Firstly the inspiration shown by one of our running club coaches, who completed this challenge last year with a pack, whilst the rest of us ran the course.

Secondly, for the Help for Heroes Fund; a worthwhile cause for our injured servicemen whom face challenges for the first time, but like our coach, they will also show determination, a stiff upper lip and a sense of British-ness about the whole thing and take it in their stride.

Initially we were worried about the training but now with two weeks to go, we are carrying 30lbs and starting to build up our mileage.

Ours will be two, maybe's three hours of effort come September, yours can be two minutes of digital time to help contribute and support us in our cause.

May we take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors in advance and we endeavour to keep this site up-to-date with progress of training, idea's and sponsor deals.

Look after yourselves everyone.

Regards   Ian Scott and the Quaker Teams A & B. Please look out for us around Darlington or on the day at Catterick Garrison.

2 weeks to go with 8 to 10 mile (runs) planned whilst carrying 30lbs. And a further milestone reached now that the sponsorship for our fund raisinging effort is over 25%.

The Quakers Running Club, our home club for training, have also kindly handed over a cheque for £ 100 in support of our efforts and this figure is to be added to our current figure. Therefore we are over the £ 200 mark.  1/9/10.
