It was a real joy to honour my mum's memory in this way and bring hope to other families. I was also delighted to get in under an hour at 58.24. (In 1998 I managed the same distance in 55 minutes - so that's not bad given the age increase)

25th September 2016 will be the 10th anniversary of my mothers death at the age of 79. Mum suffered with a heart condition since she was a child and in the late 1960's underwent pioneering heart surgery to have a false heart valve fitted.  It seems a fitting tribute to mum to mark the occasion in this way and seek to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.
