From the Loony Dook to the Loony Leap!

Having plunged into a freezing cold River Forth on 1 January 2008 as part of the Loony Dook, abseiling some 150 feet down to the same river from the Forth Bridge should be easy - I hope!

Why is he doing it I hear you ask!

On the 14th of January this year, Scott, a close friend of our daughter Sarah, was diagnosed with Metastatic Melanoma and was given a life expectancy of 6 months.

Subsequently he has been referred to the Beatson Cancer Centre in Glasgow to be part of a drug trial that will potentially extend his life expectancy slightly, but unfortunately, not change the final outcome.

Over the past few months, Scott has had oustanding care from the medical staff at The Beatson and has experienced first hand their willingness to go the extra mile for their patients.

I now want to support The Beatson by raising awareness of their hard work in research and cancer treatment while fundraising for additional equipment, staff training and research that their funding doesn't otherwise cover.
