Story
Hello and welcome to my fundraising page!
As many of you know I am running the London Marathon for my 2nd time on Sunday, 25th April 2010.I'm currently spending most of my free time pounding the streets trying to get into a decent position to complete the marathon in a semi-respectable time of (hopefully) under 5 hours. In the early months of 2006 I personally encountered the amazing work that The Lions Hospice undertakes in & for our local community.A very dear friend of mine, Ken Tattersall, was taken in under the care of The Lions Hospice during his final weeks in what was a brave 3 year fight against cancer. The practical, physical & psychological help they not only offered Ken but also his family really touched me and it is in Kens memory that I again would like to raise as much money as possible for what I feel is a really worthwhile cause. The Lions Hospice preserves & meets the needs of not only the lives of the patients that are staying with them but also the lives of the people associated to them. They take some of the daily pressures away from families that are going through terrible times & also allow the families time to breathe & recuperate when everything around them seems so uncertain.Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Lions Hospice will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
I pray that you will be feeling generous & show as much support as you're able! Thanks for all your support, not only from me but also from The Lions Hospice also.
