I finished the marathon Yesterday!
The run was great, with sunny weather, around 15 degrees and beautiful scenery along the coastline from Nice to Cannes.
Furthermore, it was a very well arranged event with music along the way, a lot of spectators and around 11000 participants.
For me it was the greatest physical challenge I've ever taken on.
It started at 08.00, and went really well in the beginning.
I held to 5:30 per kilometre the first 30km, and my goal of 4h was in sight.
Then at 35km it started to get tough. Every hill and every step became a struggle.
The pace went down, but I was determined to finish in as good time as I could.
The last 3km was pure agony, but I did finish on 04:16:50. This gave me place 4788 out of 7093.
Sitting here a day after, my whole body protesting, it still feels like a real achievement and I am happy I made it.
A big THANK YOU to all who has sponsored me or in any other way supported me for this challenge.
Who knows what it will be next time...

Now only 17 days left!
The training is proceeding and I am looking forward to the run on the 20th of November.
But I need more funding to reach my goal of a new kit for the CFR group.
Please keep donating :)

Hi and thanks for looking at this page.
I have now decided to take it all one step further. On the 20th of November I will run a full Marathon in France.
See http://www.marathon06.com/2011/AN/index.htm for details.
I NEED YOU now again! I am raising money for a very worthy cause; to expand the Community First Resonder Scheme in the local community. See below for a longer description.
I will keep you updated regarding my progress.
Please help me with a donation.
Cheers for now.

I (Paer Johansson) have now ran the half marathon "Run to the beat" on the 26th of September to collect money for Goring & Streatly CFR group.
I got the time 1.49.02 which gave me ranking 2145 out of 11045.
To further try and collect more money for the group, I will run a full marathon next year. Have not decided which one yet, so keep looking here.
Please read about the group below and help by donating a bit of money for this very worthwhile cause.
This group is part of the South Central Ambulance Service’s Community First Responder Scheme and consists of members of the public who volunteers to get trained and help their community by responding to medical emergencies.
There is evidence to suggest that in cases of cardiac arrest, for every minute that goes by without defibrillation a patient’s chances of survival decrease by 10 to 20%.
Community responders are called to an emergency at the same time as the ambulance, and can due to their location shorten the arrival time by a few very important minutes.
The group in Goring & Streatley went active in end of January and covers the local area including Goring, Streatley, Lower Basildon, Crays Pond, South Stoke, Woodcote and Moulsford. Since the start the members of the group have helped at nine emergency calls.
The group is financially self-supported. That means that the group will be completely dependent on donations and sponsorship. A Community responder group costs about £3000 per year to keep going. Initially the AED, oxygen and other equipment need to be purchased and then running costs for defibrillator pads, marketing, phone bills and clothes will occur.
