Story
So, a load of us are jumping out of a plane this June...
In memory of my best friend, my Mum, Sharon Ann Cannon who we lost on the 6th November 2013 to a horrendous disease called Multiple System Atrophy.
We are raising money and awareness for the MSA Trust who continue to help people and families like us who have been a affected by this disease. The Trust get no government funding so they rely solely on people like us to raise funds and awareness to aid them.
The MSA trust has over 6,000 members and they help support people with MSA and their families, friends, carers, help educate health care professionals about the disease and put money towards research to find a cure for this horrendous disease.
MSA affects around 5 people in every 100,000 in the U.K. and Ireland. MSA is a progressive neurological disease that effects speech, bladder, blood pressure control and normal everyday movements as little as lifting a cup of tea to your mouth. It usually occurs in adult men and women but can affect people at a young stage.
This is a truly horrible disease and there is no treatment, no cure and only a symptom based diagnosis and a disease that sadly took our Mum.
I would not wish this on any person or any family, especially not my amazing Mum, who as everyone who ever met her would protest, was an unbelievable person who would not say a bad word about anyone.
MSA stripped my Mum of everything. She slowly unable to do the things we take for granted, such as walk, speak clearly, hug her loved ones and so much more.
Our Joe and our family got involved with the charity following mum being diagnosed with MSA to raise money and awareness for the MSA Trust to help people who, like us, were affected by this and of course in memory of our mum, Sharon Cannon.
I can safely say my Mum would go mad at me jumping out of the plane but we said we'd do what we could to help people diagnosed with this and their families so here we are.
Any donation big or small would mean a massive amount to me and my family - I truly mean that. Please give where you can, this money is going to really help people and will mean so much to me.
Thank you for reading and in advance for your donations x
