Gracie May Fuller cycle challenge

Gracie May Fuller cycle challenge · 24 May 2014
Gracie wants to raise money for herself towards her operation in october so on the 24th may she will be cycling on her trike from shanklin to sandown along the sea front the route is about 1.5 miles and this will be a real challenge for her, it would be an amazing acheivement for her and if she could raise some funds while doing it she will be really proud of herself.
Gracie-may is 7 years old and suffers with cerebral palsy she is one of a twin and was born at 28 weeks gestation. when grace was 3 years old we were told that she would never walk, crawl or do anything for herself after hearing this devastating news we were determined to find something that would change this prognosis.
In 2010 we were told about a life changing operation that was being done in America by Dr T S Park at St Louis Children's hospital called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy this operation would give grace the chance of being more independent and could even allow her to walk.
After a huge fundraising campaign with the help of many many amazing people we raised the £40,000 that was needed to take grace for the operation in July 2010.
We are now 3 years on and Gracie has come a long way she is now able to sit and crawl and walk with a walker which is fantastic. her life had changed so much she goes to mainstream school and loves it and her friends loads.
We are now in the second stage of her treatment and we need to raise a further £15,000 to take her back to st louis for a check up and also to have a further smaller operation which will hopefully allow her to make the final step towards being fully independent and walk with sticks and be much more able.
Due to this we are back on the campaign to raise what we can to get her what she needs
