Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Apologies for the photographs of me on my bike these are the only two i could find (very fashionable), these are when i did the 3 counties challenge in 2009- 60 miles of what seemed all uphill (knackered).

Anyway, my challenge is to cycle 250 miles solo within a 27 hour time frame, no support vehicles 100% self sufficient endurance challenge (called the avalon 400), certificates to verify time at the end.

The reason i decided to do this is when i was walking through Herrington country park with my wife and daughter and in the distance i heard somekind of event happening, as we got closer we seen there was an organised race, i approached one of the event colleagues and asked what the race was for and she explained it was for the Grace House appeal and the money was being raised for a new Grace House childrens hospice to be built in Sunderland. Lots of children and their families whom Grace House have/are given support were their that day and at that moment i wanted to do something to help these amazing children and their families myself.

As you can see from the photos im no pro cycler, im not a member of any cycling club, i normally cycle on my days off and the odd morning before i go to work, i am training hard as i know its going to be hard to cycle 120 miles never mind 250 and i will be buying a new bike before i do the challenge as mine would probably snap.

Thankyou very much for your support and i will add more photos as the weeks go by
