BUPA Great North Run 2010 · 19 September 2010 ·

At Activity Alliance, we believe that everyone belongs in sport and physical activity. Yet, disabled people remain the least active in our society. Our strategy, We All Belong, drives meaningful change by tackling the biggest challenges disabled people face when trying to be active in sport.

Story

Well, after years of thinking about it, hearing about Friends and family doing it, I've finally plucked up the courage to do the Great North Run myself! That's right, I'm gannin home to Geordieland to see PJ & Duncan, Ant & Dec, Spuggy, Geoff Man, and the rest of the Byker Grove crew, Beardo, Gazza, Cheryl Cole (I wish), and all the other great Geordies, to do the best half marathon in the world! Wye aye man!

I'm not only taking up this challenge for personal fulfilment, but to also hopefully raise as much money as possible for a very worthwhile charity called Disability Sports Events! As my job involves trying to create more opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in sport, I know personally how much it means for them to be appreciated for their abilities rather than their disabilities, and sport provides them with the perfect opportunity  to do this!

If you're kind enough to sponsor me then you'll be helping to create more of these opportunities through Disability Sports Events at which people with disabilities of all ages can achieve their own personal goals which will stay with them forever!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, and if you made a donation it's very much appreciated, both by me, and the thousands of people to who you really will make a difference!
