The RAF Benevolent Fund is the RAF's leading welfare charity. We have been there for all members of the RAF Family for over 100 years. Last year we assisted more than 70,000 members of the RAF Family. Support us in 2025 and help us reach even more members of the RAF Family.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am joining a group of like minded friends to replicate the 1982 yomp across the Falkland Islands, famously undertaken by 45 Commando during the liberation of the Falkland Islands.  The yomp is a physically demanding 120km trek across difficult terrain consisting of peat bog, tussock grass and rock in winds typically in excess of 20 mph and frequent heavy rain. We will set off from San Carlos Bay on the west coast of East Falkland on 9th February, arriving in Stanley around 5 days later.  We will camp out and use sheep sheds and outhouses for overnight rest.  Whilst nothing can truly replicate the hardships and difficulty experienced by our armed forces in liberating the islands, the expedition is still a unique challenge that we are taking on to benefit the RAF Benevolent Fund and I hope that you will do what you can to support this excellent charity.
