Hello,

I can't ride a bike really - in fact in the last 17 years I have probably been on one less than 5 times. So when I decided that this year I am going to do something to raise money in memory of a very close family friend who died in 2006 from SADs, (Alistair, you will always be remembered and loved big man) what else would I choose to do than cycle from one end of the country to the other. Oh and to add a little more spice to it I am going to try and do it in 9 days, that's right about a 1000 miles in 9 days.

The thinking went like this. If I am going to raise money for charity then people will have to be impressed enough at the feat to deem it worth of giving some money to the charity. Therefore what is big enough that people might think wow, he'll never do that so I'll bung him a few quid to make him feel a bitter better and motivate him to finish it. The thing I settled on was Cycling from John O Groats to Lands End or vice versa. I can't quite decide which way is best, psychologically North to South is down hill (not actually true no matter how many times people tell me) but is against the wind all the way... You see my dilemma.

So would you please sponsor me? And then would you please ask a few friends to sponsor me? I would love to raise some money with your help to look into this awful thing that is SADs. I will post regularly so you can see how I (badly) am doing. Or you can follow me @TheMrB on twitter.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
