Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Running in this year's London Marathon for RedR was a great experiance and, even though it took me as long to complete as last year (4hrs 5mins), suffered cramping up at the same place on the course and was beaten to the finish by a bloke in a beer bottle costume, I'm really glad I did it.

I'm continuing to raise money to support a fantastic charity called RedR, who are all about providing people and skills for disaster relief worldwide.

Following a disaster, anywhere in the world, the most important task is to help reduce further impact and rebuild the lives of those affected. RedR provides training and support to improve emergency response worldwide.

RedR's training builds the skills of aid workers, enabling them to be more effective in their work, saving and rebuilding more lives. All their training is delivered by expert trainers who have a high-level of knowledge and experience of working in the field.

RedR provides an international recruitment service for agencies, governments etc involved in disaster relief. They are experienced in recruiting specialist professionals following major emergencies, such as the recent Japan earthquake, the massive floods in Sri Lanka and the earthquake in Haiti.

I think that this is something vital and special which needs our support, especially at this time. Running a Marathon is a big challenge: lots of training, aches and pasta. 26.2 miles is a long way to run; I know how much it hurts to get to the finish line and still manage a smile, even with gritted teeth as you can see. For RedR it seems right to get the red hair dye out again! So please support me with your donations.
