Burgs London Marathon Appeal
I don’t mind saying that two years ago I would not have been considered as having athletes physique. In fact if I had announced that I was going to be doing a 26 mile Marathon, most of you would have asked me how they made a chocolate bar that long and told me they had actually changed the name to Snickers.
However, I started running about 18 months ago as a way of losing my hard earned beer belly, and its fair to say that this has worked quite well. I successfully completed two 10km’s in 2012 adding to The Great Manchester 10km in 2011. I’ve always liked the thought of running the London marathon (instead of watching it hungover each year wishing that one day I could do it).
Its fair to say that I don’t quite cut the same silhouette as Mo Farah yet, but I have set myself this target, and want to raise as much as I can for a fantastic cause. Each person who sponsors me also has the option to be entered into a prize draw to win the chance to apply the Vaseline to my nipples on race day… or not.
Well Ladies and Gents, this is the year I have rather foolishly managed to get myself entered into my dream event!!
I am running for :-
THE BONE TUMOUR APPEAL AT THE ROBERT JONES & AGNES HUNT ORTHOPAEDIC HOSPITAL, OSWESTRY
Please help me raise the £2000 I need. Hopefully it will make the miles feel less painful and give me something to concentrate on if I can’t find a lycra clad hottie to chase!
