Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Another year has flown past & I can't believe I have found myself asking people to support us as we take part in the dreaded Great North Run once again.

After staggering across the line last year, I vowed I would never take part again because I didn't think my knees would ever forgive me. At the age of 52 (53) when I take part I'm not getting any younger!

But my wife has persuaded me again to have one last go and after seeing her photos and hearing the stories she had to share from her visit in Kenya earlier this year I knew I needed to give it one more go.

Once again very little training has taken place , in fact, truth be known, due to work commitments & any other excuse I can find, I have done no training yet. Kim has done a little more with the children cracking the whip as they ride alongside her on the bike.

With just over a month to go I've now decided I'd better start doing some training and preparing myself for the battle against the miles. I hate running and Kim doesn't get much pleasure from it either but it is the charity that we support & the people whose lives are changed that make it so worthwhile.

The main things that will keep us going will be our two wonderful children willing us on and the knowledge that the money raised is going to help children in Kenya who have literally nothing. Children who find their food on rubbish tips, many with no family, no homes and whose only comfort in life may come from sniffing glue.
