As many of you know, I've been diagnosed with Leukaemia and last year was quite a trial to say the least!

The reason that I'm in remission for the next couple of years, feeling well, back at work and enjoying life again is due to Jim Murray and his team at the QEH in Birmingham. In turn, the support that they get from Cure Leukaemia is amazing. Just go to their web page and see the amazing work that they do sponsoring and providing nurses, developing research, providing equipment and so on.They are worth supporting just for that alone and I am living (literally) proof of the value of what they do.

What isn't so obvious is the impact on the lives of people who, unlike me, know that they aren't going to survive for long. I've met youngsters less than half my age who are quietly, and with dignity, preparing for death. No price can be put on the value of the treatment, the care given by the nurses and doctors and the tireless work of Cure Leukaemia to beat this illness.

Having said that, I am asking people to put a price on it - £20. If you're already giving to other charities then please don't worry - well done and I applaud you. But if you would like to encourage me to jump out of a plane (with a parachute) at 15,000 feet on June 9th, please pledge £20. You will be making such a difference to so many people.
