Story
Thank you very much for visiting my justgiving page.
I have decided to run the Virgin London Marathon on 25th April 2010. For the avoidance of doubt, I am not a virgin, nor have I run the marathon before, but I am very keen. I have even bought a smart new pair of trainers and everything.
One of the reasons I have decided to go for it is that I was utterly inspired by the whole event last year, watching it from my sofa whilst nursing a hangover. I thought I could do it, and that, as they say, was that.
Over the past six months I have been running every Sunday until I tore my calf muscle playing football some six weeks ago. I have now recovered (almost in full) and am back training again.
Clearly the main reason is to raise money for charity and I have chosen an excellent cause in Whizz Kidz (www.whizz-kidz.org.uk). Whizz Kidz is a children's charity that seeks to provide support to disabled children to enable them to be more independent. This is primarily achieved through the provision of mobility aids, predominently wheelchairs. I think I hope you agree this is a worthy charity.
I know that we are in a recession and the Christmas is just around the corner but Whizz Kidz and I would welcome any contribution, no matter how large or small.
Please feel free to come and watch me make a fool of myself on the 25th - it should be worth the wait.
Many thanks
Grant
