Alzheimer's Society - Memory Walk Marathon 2010 Avebury to Stonehenge · 12 September 2010 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As you are visiting this page you may well have met my mother Mary B Grashoff. She is a sprightly 94 year old that has suffered from dementia for 10 years. For eight years we cared for her at home with the help of some wonderful carers such as Una Garvey. Two years ago we moved mum to the Evelyn Wright care home. There is a wonderful caring enviroment and Mum is content - certainly happier than living next to me.

Mary and I are taking part in the Memory Walk Marathon this September to raise money to help fight dementia. This is an exciting and exhausting challenge that takes walkers through 6,000 years of British history. Walking the equivalent distance of a marathon, walkers start at the stone circle of Avebury and finish at the world heritage site of Stonehenge.

The Alzheimer's society has been wonderfully supportive to us and so please dig deep and donate now.
