Every day, 12 children and young people in the UK find out they have cancer. 12 children, and their families and friends, suddenly thrown into a time filled with fear, confusion, grief, anger and loss. Every day. 

One day recently, one of those 12 was a young child I know and care a lot about, and it all became clear to me, this could be anyone, anywhere, at any time. It could be my children. My nephews or nieces. My friends' children. Colleagues' children. Children I work with. Children I see every day.
