As a lot of you know I have been training to run in the Hyde Park Half Marathon, for charity, on Sunday 11th Oct. Needless to say I have found the training hard, not a surprise given my none distance running physic.
I initially decided to compete in the run to regain some fitness after injuring my ankle ligaments playing football (very painful!). After a month or so into my training program I received the news that a fantastic, generous and wonderful friend of mine called Joan had been diagnosed with liver disease.
As you may guess this was a huge shock to me, my girlfriend Katie and the rest of her family. Sadly, shortly after Joan’s liver disease had been diagnosed her condition deteriorated, leaving her requiring specialised hospital care, until she quietly passed away in her sleep.
To celebrate Joan’s life I have decided to dedicate my run to her and other people who are affected by Liver Disease. To help me to do this I am asking people to donate, whatever they can, to the British Liver Trust through this page.
Any and all donations will be warmly appreciated.
Greg
