My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As it was Olympic year I decided to come out of retirement after rupturing my Achilles tendon 3 years ago training for what was then I thought my last London Marathon. I'm almost enjoying the training as it gives me something to do on the evenings I'm away from home while working in London.
Its a pretty safe bet that I wont be making the Olympic squad, but just completing it will be for me, a fantastic achievement after I thought I'd not be able to run again.
I've decided to use this an an opportunity to raise money for Action Heart, a local charity that does fantastic work providing cardiac rehabilitation and secondary prevention for people who have suffered a heart attack, undergone heart surgery or have a heart related condition
Had a service like this been available 30 years ago the outcome for my Dad may have been different, so if by raising some money to help them continue to provide this support keeps some other Dads going to a ripe old age, then my training aches and pains will be a small price to pay.

Action Heart provides a cardiac rehabilitation service that helps people who have suffered from a heart attack, undergone cardiac surgery, or have a cardiac related condition. Coronary Heart Disease is now seen to be the UK's biggest killer and Action Heart is dedicated to the primary and secondary prevention of this condition.
