Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am sure you know many people who have undertaken the famous London to Paris ride, and are wondering what is so special about it that it warrants me asking for some sponsorship? Well we are adding a twist to ramp up the challenge. Most London to paris rides are completed over 3 or 4 days  - we plan on doing it in 24 hours!

I will be cycling with a group of MAMILS from Sackville school in East Grinstead to Paris in 24 hours, on the 3rd and 4th of July. I am raising funds for the GamesAid, a little known charity that helps disabled children find happiness via the medium of video games, something close to my heart!

The plan is to leave East Grinstead at 7:00pm and cycle the 30 miles to Newhaven for the (slow) ferry to Dieppe at 11:00pm. From Dieppe at approximately 5:00am we  then cycle the 125 miles to Paris to enjoy an overpriced beer on the Champs Elysees before 7:00pm.

Myself and my friends at the wonderful gaming community midlifegamer.net have been raising money for this cause for the last 5 years and I can honestly say that the joy the charity helps to bring to some very special kids makes it all worthwhile.

This will genuinely be a really tough challenge for me, especially as I have not had the time to train anywhere near as much as I would like.

Anything you can donate would be thoroughly appreciated and will definitely help to spur me on when the going gets tough.

Matt.
