The Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) helps people from the electrical and energy industries whenever they or their families need help with life's challenges, whether big or small, at every stage of their lives.

Story

I’ve now completed the Edinburgh Marathon on the 23rd of May and the London Marathon on the 25th of April to raise funds for the Electrical Charity (EEIBA). Thanks to all who have donated or pledged money for the EEIBA, however I still need more donations to reach my target. Its been a tough 6 months training in the dark Winter nights. Please sponsor me....

My time for London was 4.22:30, and the Edinburgh Marathon a time of 4.11:45 (on a blistering hot day).

Ive got to say a big thanks to my partner Pam for being so understanding about training over the last six months taking up precious family time.

The EEIBA is the only charity that exists to help those in hardship and distress who work, or have worked, in the electrical and electronics industries and any connected or allied industries and sciences, including mechanical engineering. This help is also available to any dependants. Help and assistance is provided in circumstances involving all age groups, from the yougest child to the oldest pensioner, anywhere in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.

Since the recession began, the charity has seen record requests for assistance, but is also suffering from a drop in funding and charitable donations. That means it needs your help more than ever.

Its easy to donate through JustGiving, its simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the EEIBA.
