The Great Curry Run 2015 · 25 April 2015

We exist to give a lifetime of support to the wider Army family, regardless of where or when a soldier served. We act swiftly and efficiently in providing support in the form of grants to those who find themselves in real need. We also provide grants to charities who support the wider Army family.

Story

My sons' school, St George's, Harpenden, organises a fun run every year; this will be its 5th incarnation.

The first 4 Great Curry Runs were solely for the benefit of the Soldiers Charity, raising the best part of £150,000. This year’s event supports two charities: the Soldiers' Charity and Medicins San Frontieres. I have set up a fund-raising page for each , so you can choose one, the other, or both. This page is for the Soldiers' Charity. If you want to support Medicins San Frontieres instead or as well, please go here: http://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Guy-GreatCurryRun-MSF-2015.

Part of the reason for the run is to flag the number of British soldiers killed in major conflicts over the last 50 years. The combined loss of life of UK troops over that period tops 1500, equivalent to 10 metres per soldier for the distance I will run.
