Right now, millions of children are in danger. They face violence, disease, hunger and the chaos of war and disaster. Unicef ensures more children get life-saving food, vaccinations, education and protection than anyone else. With your help, we can build a safer world for children. unicef.org.uk

Story

Why are we doing it?   Thinking of those poor little buggers in Haiti while we sip pina coladas only 150miles away.   We can surely make our lives a little less comfortable  to raise some money for those who have lost their parents.

Okay, for those who get hung up on 'details',  we're not actually rowing the Atlantic,  but rowing a 5 year old Ergo across the Atlantic.   Same thing - right?   Here's what it involves

Antigua to Gibraltar

10.5 days at sea.

12 willing crew

23hrs per day (on the ergo) - 2 minute turnarounds

1hr shifts.  Girls target 11000m,  boys 13,500m   12500 average per hour

287,500 target meters per day

3m target meters total which equates to  roughly 1600 nautical miles /  half the actual distance.
