<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Starting in September 2011, together with 24 Students and 2 Dons I will attempt to cycle, run, swim and row the distance from Winchester College to Leh, the regional capital of Ladakh in Northern India.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">The aim of the event is to raise awareness of the Lotus Flower Trust, a charity that works with deprived children in India, and more specifically to raise money in order to construct an extension to the Sabu Ayu Nunnery, which houses young girls who are homeless, orphaned or are unable to remain in the family home.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">The target of £50,000 is to build the extension of the Nunnery which will take place over a 2 year period, with 17 yr old students in their penultimate year at Winchester College travelling out to Ladakh in the summer holidays of 2012 (and 2013) to assist with the construction. I am scheduled for the 2012 trip. </span></p>
