Story
Just a Drop is working in partnership with charity SES Explore (Scientific Exploration Society) which is undertaking an expedition to remote parts of southern Guyana. A key objective is to improve water safety and sanitation at the clinic facility of the main Wai Wai village deep in the Guyanan jungle. The Wai Wai tribe are known as "guardians of the forest". More information about the project can be found at the main website of SES Explore, but we would like to ask for your help today to pay for a Water Filtration System at the clinic.
We estimate that finding, purchasing, transporting and installing this will cost in the region of £1,000 (we will update this target if we get new information), and this target has been allocated as £250 for "Just a Drop" and £750 for expedition leader SES Explore. We are already working with friends in Guyana to establish exactly what is needed - at present, water has to be carried by the women of the village to the clinic. As Guyana's infrastructure is heavily centred around capital Georgetown and the coastal regions, this local clinic is vital for maintaining the health of the community many miles away. Please help to make it safer and better, by donating towards this project.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. If we manage to raise more than our target (or not enough to meet it), we and SES Explore will use the funds wisely to contribute towards the costs of other medical and environmental objectives of the Expedition. Thank you so much - your gift will make a real difference to the success of the project.
