Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit one of Gwlad's two JustGiving pages - inspired by Tal's story. Dai and Rae's little boy, Taliesin Siôn Evans Cox (Tal), was born 13 weeks early on August 21st 2009 - he weighed in at 1lb 4oz.
The story of how he's fighting to survive has inspired the members of Gwladrugby.com (a Welsh rugby website) to raise some money for appropriate charities. Our two chosen charities are Noah's Ark and Bliss - the overwhelming support on Gwlad is for the Noah's Ark Appeal for the Children's Hospital For Wales, it's a Welsh charity and they need funds for phase two of the hospital. Bliss works with families of premature babies - they're directly related to Tal's experience and they're not a very well known charity, so a few extra pounds might make a lot of difference to them. So - please give some money to both charities. If you were planning on donating £20, please consider giving £10 to each one. The link to Gwlad's other fundraising page is here: http://www.justgiving.com/Gwlad-Bliss/
Each Autumn International series and each Six Nations tournament sees a Gwlad fundraising rugby match - where the money raised is normally split between the chosen charity and Gwlad itself (towards the upkeep of the site, server costs etc.). There has been such a response to Tal's plight that the demand was there to raise money independently of the game and the website. Therefore ALL the money raised on our JustGiving pages will go to the charities - i.e none of it goes to Gwlad itself.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
