We (Gwynedd Jones, Dai Jones and Mike Gashe) are attempting to cycle the legendary climbs that featured in stage 16 of this years Giro d'Italia Bike Race.

The climbs are known for being amongst the toughest cycling routes in Europe and the elevation means that oxygen will be in short supply!  The climbs include the Stelvio Pass - 2757m and the Gavia Pass - 2621m.  The challenge will involve 3 days of intense cycling a high percentage of which will be uphill.

The link below has a little more information about what we are facing!

We are supporting Irfon Williams, who has launched #teamirfon - a fundraising campaign to raise £20k to support the Alaw Unit in Ysbyty Gwynedd where he is currently receiving treatment as he battles bowel cancer.

#teamirfon has been set up by Irfon Williams and his family to create good times and to thank all those on the Alaw Unit who provide fantastic support.

The number of people with cancer is increasing.  By 2020, almost one in two people will get cancer. Over 1,500 people with cancer were looked after on the Alaw Unit last year.

The monies raised through #teamirfon will support the counselling services, complementary therapies, specialist equipment, bespoke headwear and patient comforts that make a huge difference to patients. With our help the fantastic staff on Alaw can go on providing the incredible extra care, treatment and research that is funded through Awyr Las for many years to come.
