Hospital Caterers Association - Challenge 70 · 24 March 2018

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

2018 is the 70th anniversary of the Hospital Caterers Assoication and indeed the NHS.  We wanted to recognise this with a 70 related challenge that raises money for a cause that affects the NHS every day.

In the UK Sepsis kills more people every year than breast, bowel and prostate cancer combined.  It has little recognition and we wanted to help to raise awareness in such an imortant year for us and the NHS.
