Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Inspired in part by the haunting tones of Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music, exhorting listeners to "Climb every mountain" a team of five Hogan Lovells lawyers will be attempting to do just that - three times in a single 24 hour period.
The five of us will be doing so between 15 and 16 June 2011. We are Robin Spencer, Doug Hawthorn, Will Beck, Viktor Braun and Joe Bannister. We span a wide range of ages and fitness levels but we are united in our determination to climb and descend Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowden within 24 hours.
We will be doing so in support of the "Debbie Fund" (part of the UCL Cancer Institute Research Trust). The Debbie Fund was established in 2010 memory of Debbie Phillips who died of cervical cancer on 11 February that year. The Fund's objective is to raise sufficient money to ensure that the necessary research can be carried out by a team of scientists at University College London to develop a cure for cervical cancer. So far, in the short period since its creation, The Debbie Fund has raised over £472,000 towards meeting that objective in the form of cash and pledges to give cash. Our goal is to raise at least £5,000 for this worthy cause and Hogan Lovells will contribute 50% of any donations made on this website. Any help you can give us would therefore be greatly appreciated. Gift aid may be reclaimed on all eligible donations by UK tax payers. Many thanks for your support.
