Story
HMS TRAFALGAR - Sponsored Bike Ride, 11 December 2009
In
order to raise money for Morecambe Bay Hospitals' Stroke Unit, myself
(Logs(Pers)(SM) Dan Lambert)), CPOET(MESM) Mark Mullen, Lt Matt Forbes RN and POET(WESM) Ady Eades will be cycling the distance from Plymouth
to Lancaster (330 miles) between us.
Cycling in relay around
a 30 mile lap of Lancaster, Morecambe and Carnforth, we will be
attempting to cycle the distance between our base port and our
affiliated city and town in under 12hrs. Oh yeah and to top it off we will be marching through Lancaster the following morning... albeit with a few tender parts!!
As HMS TRAFALGAR is
decommissioning in December, we would like to give something to our
affiliated town and city and we feel the Stroke Unit would be a worthy
recipient. The Stroke Unit is a much over-looked unit that does
amazing work supporting both the young and old stroke sufferers, as
well as their families.
