The objective of the expedition is to raise awareness and funds for underprivileged women affected by climate change. Due to their gender-defined roles in society and traditional patterns of marginalisation, Vietnamese women are amongst those who are most likely to carry the heaviest burdens and suffer the most from environmental degradation. The team will be fundraising for UN Women Vietnam’s projects that are focused on the advancement and economic empowerment women in rural areas of Vietnam, ultimately helping build their livelihood and climate change resilience.
