As many of you know, Paul Stead's daughter, Amy, has spent a lot of time recently in Rwanda, working as a volunteer through a charity, Comfort Rwanda, to alleviate the poverty and trauma caused by the genocide in 1994.

Amy has fallen in love with Eliezer, a co-worker, and they marry in July. Paul and his wife Rita are flying out to the Rwandan capital, Kigali, for the wedding, and will also be doing voluntary work with Comfort Rwanda whilst they are there.

We're off to a flying start, with over £100 pledged already for Jason's hair-growing stunt (Damian says he's only paying up if he doesn't have to look at any more disturbing pictures of Jason, which seems fair enough.)  Inspired by this heroic effort, Paul has suggested a nice counterpoint fundraiser - shaving off his beard. And if you're thinking 'Been there, seen that', then consider this - Paul, a mature gentleman in every respect, has spent all of his adult life with a beard - he's had it since he was 18.  Neither his two grown-up children nor his wife Rita has ever actually seen him without it.  Paul says he won't take such a momentous step without pledges of at least £250 - so dig deep! Please email Paul or me.
