Aleppo Emergency! Syrian's Face Sub-Zero Temperatures Cold and Hungry!

The civil war in Syria in one of the worst humanitarian atrocities in our lifetime, and over the past few days, the magnitude of the bloodshed has been incomprehensible. We’re now facing a new threat as temperatures plunge below freezing. People are leaving their livelihoods behind and escaping with nothing in the midst of a very bitter winter, arriving with just the clothing on their backs, vulnerable, weak and hungry after months under siege without proper access to food or healthcare. 

We are dealing with a crisis in what the UN describes as a ‘complete meltdown of humanity’. Penny Appeal is on ground now in Idlib just 40 miles from Aleppo, where our teams are distributing lifesaving aid to thousands of people. We’re responding with clothing for children, food packs, shelter, beddings, blankets, stoves and more keeping children and families warm and fed.
