Story
PLEASE MAKE A DONATION OF UP TO A MAXIMUM OF £5 (FIVE POUNDS). WE KNOW TIMES ARE TOUGH FOR EVERYONE.
Earlier this year, the three of us set out to scale Mount Kilimanjaro – see www.TeamShootingStar.co.uk for details – we are now re-uniting to take on a new challenge; to run in the Royal Parks London Half Marathon on Sunday 11th October 2009, again in aid of a wonderful cause, The Shooting Star Children's Hospice.
The Shooting Star Children’s Hospice provides care, support and advice for children and young people with life-limiting conditions that are not expected to live to adulthood, and their families. These services include Short Breaks (respite care), Day Care, Outreach Care, Family Support and Therapies and End of Life Care. It costs £3 million every year (£8,000 each day) to maintain these care services and with no long-term statutory funding, the charity relies on voluntary donations. We are taking the approach of many supporters giving a little – every penny really does count. So, please help us if you can, making a difference to children and families who deserve whatever we can do to support. PLEASE CONSIDER A DONATION OF UP TO £5 – more if you wish but don’t feel obliged. Gift aid is claimed on every eligible donation made by a UK Tax payer, meaning your gift could be worth an extra 28% at no cost to you. Thank you so much for your support.
