This June, I will be running 5k with a group of friends in support of the Masjid Alhikmah and Community Centre Project. In Aberdeen, the Muslim population is growing rapidly and the current available facilities are struggling to keep up with its requirements. This project aims to build a new purpose built Mosque which will, Inshaa Allah, ease some of this growing pressure and help in accommodating the city's growing needs.

As a teenager who has grown up in Aberdeen, I understand the pressing need for a Mosque with purpose built facilities- especially for the youth of the city. The Mosque is currently under construction and, at this stage, the only thing that the project is dependant on is money. If the project is to be completed soon then the necessary funds must be raised. Running in this 5k is just one way I'm hoping to contribute and any donations no matter how big or small are greatly appreciated!

Most of us will be familiar with the hadith "Whoever builds a Mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him likewise in Paradise". This project is a chance to earn continuous blessing and rewards both before and after death. A chance like this will not come often so we should make the most of it Inshaa Allah.
