Hello - thanks for visiting!
13/12 I sorted out the off-line donations on the 15th but very happy to find that some new advertising and "get in touch at Christmas" contacts have generated more activity so we'll keep it running till the New Year.....
20/10 303 donors ...one final push before I close this page on the 15th November, a year after Hamish died - another 50 donors possible?
21/8 Completed! Very very stiff calf muscles which are probably hiding the rest of the aches and pains but a really satisfying weekend and still numerous off-line donations to add up - thanks everyone! I'll add some details when I have a bit more energy...
18/8 Donors well over 200 now - can 300 be reached? Less than 48 hours now till the start and no training this week after a delayed flight meant an unplanned stay in New York - trying to persuade myself that its good rest and relaxation for the big day...
3/8 Reckon donors now > 130. Awareness is key - bowel cancer can be cured if its caught early!
31/7 did some jumping yesterday - off rocks on a white water rafting trip...not exactly sure which events these cover. Lots of Hamish thoughts as we've hit the US National parks....
24/7 Off tomorrow for some warm weather training - no...holiday actually...
21/7 Did some sprinting tonight - that was OK! The monetary total is growing brilliantly but at about 70 donors, 500 still seems a long way off - keep them coming!
17/7Torrential rain interfered with planned long jump practice but leaping puddles on WaterofLeith run was probably useful!Brilliant start to the fund-raising total - thanks everyone BUT I really want to target LOTS of donations whatever size!
11/7 Well I survived that - few bruises from the high jump attemps though. Shona's version of motivation is throwing a PB in the javelin which is better than my best this season!
Instead of trying to run a marathon (Hamish never really "got" the distance running thing...) I have decided to attempt a Heptathlon. The target is the Scottish Masters in August, and I hope that if everyone I know donates a pound or two I can make a 4 figure sum. The kids don't believe I know 1000 people - prove them wrong! Hamish's belief in research showed in his dedication to writing papers throughout his illness and his participation in clinical trials right up to the end - making a contribution to on-going vital research seems the best way to remember him.
Intending to attempt a hurdles race for the 1st time in too long this weekend...
