No this is not a joke, I am indeed running a half marathon

I blame sleep deprivation relieving me of my good sense and a well timed call by Save the Children for my entry, but mostly I'm running because as a journalist I've read too many news articles, covered too many stories describing the thousands of Syrian refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq being separated from their families as the conflict in their country intensifies.

Reporting the news is one thing but making a contribution to the support and protection of these children is much more worthwhile and I hope you can help me in this endeavour by donating to this cause.
