I have entered 'Hannah's Willberry Wonder Pony BE80 Challenge' because I have a very individual circumstance . . .

One year ago (September 2015) I bought my new horse Jack, he is a 16.2hh thoroughbred cross, 12 year old, bay gelding. Having just sold a thoroughbred mare before he arrived I had originally said I didn't want another finer breed or thoroughbred ... however I went to see him regardless as his advert was what I was looking for and he was amazing! I fell in love with him instantly as he puts his all into everything you ask of him, even if hes not sure - he will try for you. I had big plans for this horse as I felt he deserved the opportunity to show off how brilliant he is, he is very forward going but safe at the same time which is a very rare find! We had a great start together doing all sorts of disciplines and our partnership blossomed, this was very short lived as in November 2015 I fell very ill with an on going problem I'd had for a year after having some surgery. I was hospitalized immediately as I took a turn for the worse, only to find out I was pregnant as well! The reason my health had depleted so fast was because this amazing little baby was fighting my illness with me as he grew, but was draining me of everything at the same time. Once I had been discharged from the hospital I was determined to keep riding as I hadn't just bought this horse to stand in the field and look pretty. Doctors always recommend to stay active with exercise, eat well and carry on every day life whilst being pregnant ... so I did - determined to keep riding I hacked him out 4 times a week, alone & with company until I got to 30 weeks as getting on and off became virtually impossible for me and bump! Whilst I was out of the saddle I had 3 very good friends of mine offer to ride him a few times a week, just to keep him ticking over for me.  My labor didn't go to plan as I ended up having to have an emergency cesarean. 5 weeks later, I braved getting back on for the first time and it felt great! I am so happy to now be back on board, however we have a long way to go as I cant rush my healing process and I am so unfit!  I am currently riding  3 times a week for 30 - 45 minutes per session just to build my strength, fitness and bond with him. I cant wait to see how we progress over the next year in preparation for this wonderful charitable competition!
